Souza, Moises C. Bezerril, Mateus A. Silva, Frank C.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 7,   Pages 1002-1009 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000149

Abstract: This work presents the application of the technique named signal analysis based on using density of maxima to analyze brushless direct current motors. It uses a correlation coefficient estimated from the density of maxima of the current signal. This study demonstrates in experiments the speed estimation of a brushless motor on a testbench and in a small flying drone. The experimental results demonstrate that it is possible to estimate the speed in 97.8% of the cases and to detect failure in 82.75% of the analyzed cases.

Three-dimensional localization of near-field and strictly noncircular sources using steering vector decomposition Research Article

Zheng LI, Jinqing SHEN, Xiaofei ZHANG,lizhengjsnj@163.com,zhangxiaofei@nuaa.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 4,   Pages 644-652 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100034

Abstract: The three-dimensional problem for in with a is rarely studied. In this paper, we propose an algorithm with improved estimation performance. We decompose the multiple parameters of the steering vector in a specific order so that it can be converted into the products of several matrices, and each of the matrices includes only one parameter. On this basis, each parameter to be resolved can be estimated by performing a one-dimensional spatial spectral search. Although the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is several times that of our previous algorithm, the estimation performance, including its error and resolution, with respect to the direction of arrival, is improved, and the range estimation performance can be maintained. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulation results.

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2020, Volume 14, Issue 5,   Pages 1097-1109 doi: 10.1007/s11709-020-0634-3

Abstract: Shear stress distribution prediction in open channels is of utmost importance in hydraulic structural engineering as it directly affects the design of stable channels. In this study, at first, a series of experimental tests were conducted to assess the shear stress distribution in prismatic compound channels. The shear stress values around the whole wetted perimeter were measured in the compound channel with different floodplain widths also in different flow depths in subcritical and supercritical conditions. A set of, data mining and machine learning algorithms including Random Forest (RF), M5P, Random Committee, KStar and Additive Regression implemented on attained data to predict the shear stress distribution in the compound channel. Results indicated among these five models; RF method indicated the most precise results with the highest value of 0.9. Finally, the most powerful data mining method which studied in this research compared with two well-known analytical models of Shiono and Knight method (SKM) and Shannon method to acquire the proposed model functioning in predicting the shear stress distribution. The results showed that the RF model has the best prediction performance compared to SKM and Shannon models.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 3,   Pages 287-436 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000033

Abstract: We built a Tm:Ho co-doped fiber laser using a TiC material as a saturable absorber (SA). The formation of s (VSs) and s (NLPs) was observed. The SA was prepared by dripping a TiC solution on a side-polished D-shaped fiber and then naturally vaporized. The VS is characterized by two coexisting sets of Kelly sidebands. By modulating the polarization controller in the fiber laser, NLPs with about 3.3 nm bandwidth can be switched from the VS. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that VSs have been generated in a fiber laser using a TiC material as the SA.
